Sound installation, 21′
Playing Jail is created by recording static objects at Lukiškės prison, vibrating them with a bow. The prison was built in 1901 and worked up until 2007. Shelves in prisoners’ cells, drying racks, chairs, doors, safes, desks, cupboards in administrative areas, staircase handrails, electrical panel doors, outside entrance canopies, window sills and gutters, fences, grilles. The piece is exploring inner potetncial in extremely closed conditions. It was exhibited in a cell with open roof, meant for the prisoners to walk outside.
