The piece for symphony orchestra was inspired by the 14-15th century monk and engineer Thangtong Gyalpo. He is said to have built 58 sustain chain bridges in Tibet and Bhutan.

During my one-year stay in Bhutan I have visited one of his bridges and that became an inspiration for the symphonic piece. Its mirror-like structure consists of segments that gradually transform from one into another and guide the listener into a harmonically and rhythmically insecure state through a choral (as a women choir theater performance was the source of income for Thangtong Gyalpo for the purpouse of building bridges. Now that is considered as the beginning of Tibetan opera Lhamo) towards final aleatorics, which serves as the final segment before reaching another shore.
